Ranikhet

Ranikhet, which means  Queen's meadow , gets its name from a local legend, which states that it was here, that Raja Sudhardev won the heart of his queen, Rani Padmini, who subsequently chose the area for her residence, giving it the name, Ranikhet, though no palace exists in the area. Ranikhet is a place related with the legends of Himalayas. Historical accounts tell us the Queen Padmini of Kumaon was enchanted by this tiny hill paradise. Ranikhet  is a  hill station  and  cantonment  town in  Almora district  in the Indian state of  Uttarakhand . NAINITAL


Nainital popularly known as the LakeCity is a famous hill station in the Indian state of Uttarakhand and headquarters of Nainital district in the Kumaon foothills of the outer Himalayas.
Situated at 1938 m in the Kumaon hills, this attractive mountain resort was once the summer capital of Uttar Pradesh and now a bustling hill station. Naini Lake is often said to be one of the emerald green eyes of Lord Shiva's wife. One can enjoy a ride on pedal boats on a quiet summer evening. Nainital has everything that takes to make a touristy place. The eye-shaped lake is the centre of all the activities in the city . Boating over its quiet waters is also an experience of a lifetime. A kilometer and a half promenade called Mall Road gives a good run to the Naini Lake.  The two ends of the Mall Road are distinguished as Tallital (Tail of the Lake) and Mallital (Head of the Lake), where Tallital welcomes the new visitor with a wide angle view of the sparkling lake, surrounding mountains, colonial-era buildings The much revered Naina Devi Temple is also situated in Mallital on the lakeside. Running parallel to the Mall Road on the other side of the lake is semi-paved Thandi Sarak, which is dotted with few lakeside Hindu Temples as well. Snow View Point can be reached by a cable car is the place to get the spectacular view of the distant  Himalayan Range on a clear sky day. On the other side Tiffin Top is an ideal picnic spot amidst the moderately dense forest. The view of neighbouring hills from this place can actually melt the heart of the viewers. The lofty China Peak is an aspiring trek for adventurous; the arduous trek upwards is rewarded by the surreal view of the mountains in China. A short distance away, Hanuman Garhi invites nature lovers as well the Hindu devotees to seek the blessing at the Hanuman Temple and then witness never before like view of the sunrise and sunset on the horizon. The far set up zoo boasting a rich variety of fauna is also an important place to visit in Nainital. . Just over 1 km further on is the state observatory, which is open at weekends.
Nainital is the administrative city of Uttarakhand with the HighCourt situated in the city and is one of the major districts of the Kumaon Region. It also consists of the first national park of India ‘Jim Corbett National Park’.

The city is also famous for the popular Bhutia market which is a place for all different clothing merchandise and many different products.

Jim Corbett National Park

Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest Indian national park established in 1936 as Hailey National Park. It is located in the Nainital District of Uttarakhand near the Ramnagar city. Shri Badrinath Dham

Badrinath also was known as Badrinarayan Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu is situated in the district of Chamoli in Uttarakhand, India. The temple and town form one of the four Char Dham and Chota Char Dham pilgrimage sites.
